Common questions
Beta and access
- How do I join the beta?
- ShowReady is invitation-only during the beta. Only pre-approved email addresses can register, so use the address that received access. Existing users can sign in as usual.
- Who do I contact for help?
- During the invitation-only beta, contact the person who invited you.
Files and your data
- Do my media files get uploaded?
- No. Files are read and checked in your browser. Your schedule, column choices, media choices and check reports are saved to your show.
- Why do I have to attach files again after a refresh?
- Because the files were never uploaded. Your saved schedule comes back straight away; attach the same files again before running a new check. Earlier media choices return only if the files are identical.
- Which files are supported, and how large can they be?
- ShowReady reads show ZIPs and .xlsx, .csv and .tsv schedules. Encrypted ZIPs, legacy .xls and .ppt files and PDF agendas are not supported. The supported files page lists the exact size limits.
Reading your schedule
- ShowReady read the wrong column.
- On Run of show, open “Adjust how we read your file” and choose the right column for that piece of information. This does not change your original file.
- What is the difference between an agenda and a run of show?
- An agenda tells attendees what happens and when. A run of show is the crew's cue-by-cue plan, with durations, people, media files and instructions. ShowReady can start a draft run of show from an agenda.
- How do I use the free templates?
- Download the blank or completed Excel template without signing in. Edit the Original source tab with one cue per row, 24-hour start times, durations in seconds and exact media filenames, then import it and review the column choices.
Checks and results
- What is the difference between Fix and Review?
- Fix items need changing before the show. Review items need a person to look; you can acknowledge or dismiss them. Fix items can only be cleared by changing the files or the schedule.
- Can I add media later?
- Yes. Use “Add media ZIP” on Run of show. Your cues are kept, and ShowReady asks before replacing a file with different contents.
- What can I export?
- From Exports you can download the current run of show as a branded Excel file and the check report as JSON.
- Does a clean check mean my files will play?
- No. ShowReady checks file structure and metadata. It does not test full playback, measure loudness or check fonts installed on show machines, and it does not replace a technical rehearsal.
